Back in May, 44 of our S4 Biology students participated in the Biology challenge – a national competition run in conjunction with the Royal Society of Biology and the University of Warwick.  Overall 26,828 pupils entered from 348 UK schools.   Two online tests provided an opportunity for students aged 13-15 to test their Biology knowledge through a series of demanding multiple-choice questions, across many different topics.  Results for this year were outstanding with 10 pupils achieving 80% and a Gold award, despite nationally only 5% of entrants reaching this level.  There were also 4 silver and 8 bronze awards, plus 16 other students who were commended or highly commended.  This competition rewards those pupils who take an interest in Biology outside of the curriculum they are taught – we cannot wait to see what these pupils achieve in the future!
