- About Us
For entry to the school at any age you will need to register your child as a prospective pupil. This includes anyone wishing to sit the 11+ Entrance Test. In order to do this, please complete the Registration Form and include the fee of £35. Once a place has been offered you will be asked to pay a further £250 deposit to accept the place.
Pre-Prep 1 Entry (Reception)
Entry to the Prep school is primarily at age 4+ into Pre-Prep 1. Up to 40 places are available. Places are offered following a meeting with parents.
Prep 1 Entry (Y3)
In Prep 1 the class size increases to a maximum of 24 allowing for a further intake of pupils at age 7+. Pupils will be assessed and have an interview with the Head Master.
Entry is at age 11 via an assessment day in January and is made up of boys from our Prep School together with new entrants from a broad range of local independent and maintained schools. Those pupils selected for scholarship exams are invited to return in February. Scholarship information and dates can be found in the Scholarship and Bursaries section.
The 11+ entrance test for entry September 2019 will take place on Wednesday 23 January 2019. The closing date for entries is Friday 11 January 2019.
There are 3 forms in each year and classes are limited to a maximum of 24 pupils in the first two years (Y7 & Y8), and to 25 in the third year (Y9).
At Sixth Form level, which is co-educational, we welcome a further 35 – 40 girls and boys from a variety of schools near and far. Most of our own boys from GCSE carry through to the Sixth Form.
Entry into the Sixth Form is based on predicted GCSE grades and an interview.
Normal entry requirements for admission to the Sixth form are 5 passes (A* to C), with at least 4 at grade B or higher. We would expect grade B or higher (6 in Mathematics or English) in those subjects being studied to A level. However, scholars would usually be expected to achieve 5 or more A/A* grades (or equivalent) at GCSE, and many do significantly better than this.
Scholarship students are invited to a morning of assessment in their chosen subjects in January. Scholarship information and dates can be found in the Scholarship and Bursaries section.
