Uniforms
At Birkdale, we are committed to high standards of uniform and appearance from all members of our community. We believe a smart appearance reflects a pupil’s approach to life as well as providing our pupils with a corporate identity and encouraging pride in appearance. It also enables positive community recognition and reflects the highest standards and expectations we set at Birkdale.
Clear guidance on uniform is contained in the Prep School Uniform list and the Senior School Uniform list. Parents are asked to support the school by ensuring that pupils have the right garments and that they wear them neatly. Pupils should normally be in uniform on arrival and departure from school, and for all school activities.
How to Order
Ordering is simple and straightforward. Birkdale Uniform is supplied by SchoolBlazer, who offer a fully online ordering and delivery service. A video showing “How to Shop the SchoolBlazer website” can be found here:

Intelligent Sizing
The website will take you through a step by step process to ensure sizing is accurate. The heart of SchoolBlazer’s sizing solution is an “Intelligent Sizing” system. All of their garment patterns have been loaded into the system. These are then compared with the child’s sizes, as entered by the parent. The system then provides a detailed description as to how each garment will fit and clear recommendations for the best fit both now and in a year’ time. They also have “how to measure videos” on the website and a child’s avatar which shrinks and grows as measurements are entered to give a true representation of the child.
Name-tapes are normally sewn into all garments free of charge
This service is unfortunately suspended currently while social-distancing measures are in place in their warehouse but will be reinstated as soon as possible. In the interim, SchoolBlazer are waiving the cost of the labels themselves and they will be supplied free-of-charge.
Shipping within 2 days of ordering
Orders are sent 1st class or via DPD “Tracked”. Customers receive a text message from DPD specifying the time of delivery. Customers are then free to accept or amend this time.
Free delivery on all orders over £150
Any delayed items are shipped at no extra cost and are only billed at the point of dispatch.
Free 120-day returns and a ‘no-quibble’ returns policy for quality.
Garments can be returned within 120 days of delivery providing the items are unworn or unused. Online Returns allows parents to transact a returned item directly through the website, meaning that the replacement item is dispatched immediately, not at the point the returned garment is received. They even name-tape replacement items.

Games Kit
We are currently in the process of changing to a new supplier of our Games Kit. The new kit will be launched on 24th June 2024. Full details will be sent to parents nearer the time. Should you have any queries regarding the new kit, please email shu-uniform@birkdaleschool.org.uk
The current games kit, can still be ordered until 30th April 2024 if required.
