The Prep school reception is open from 8.15am.

Registration for all pupils takes place at 8.45am.

Lunch is served from 12 noon for Pre-Prep and 12.30pm onwards for Prep.

The school day finishes at 3.30pm for Pre-Prep and 3.50pm for Prep.

The Prep school reception closes at 5pm.

Birkdale recognises the needs of busy working parents by offering flexible and friendly before and after school care to our pupils.

Breakfast Club

The school day begins with Breakfast Club. This service is available to use on an occasional or regular basis. Pupils can enjoy a healthy breakfast from 7.30am provided by the school’s catering staff where they will be carefully supervised until the school day begins. Breakfast Club is managed and supervised by members of Birkdale staff. A charge of £3.25 per day is added to the end of term bill.

After School Care

At the Prep School, there is an After School Care service for families who may need to make use of it on an occasional or on a regular basis. The service is available from the end of the school day until 6pm. It is managed and supervised daily by a member of the school teaching staff with the help of teaching assistants. A light tea is served, provided by the school’s catering staff and pupils are then offered a range of varied and stimulating games and activities within a safe and carefully monitored environment. All activities are conducted within a relaxed and informal atmosphere and outdoor play is encouraged during the summer months. For care until 5pm, a charge of £5 per day is added to the end of term bill. For care until 6pm, there is a charge of £7 per day.
